What this is, and what it is not
Read this first
This is an independent business opportunity, not employment. Independent sales representatives who work alongside ISI Energy:
- Run their own business under an independent contractor agreement.
- Set their own hours and decide how much they work.
- Pay their own business expenses, including their phone, internet, transportation, and any tools they choose to use.
- Are compensated as described in the independent contractor agreement, which is provided and explained before anyone signs.
There are no set hours, no quotas imposed by ISI, and no promise of any particular level of income. What you earn depends on the business you build.

What the work looks like
What independent representatives do
- Make the first call to homeowners in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties, introduce ISI Energy, and confirm basic fit.
- Book video consultations on ISI's calendar.
- In some cases, lead the consultation: review bills, explain options, and send the written summary.
- Follow ISI's rules without exception: no savings promises, no tax or incentive claims without a source, no "we install" language, consent honored the first time, "stop" honored the first time.
Team leader opportunities exist for representatives who build and support a group of other independent representatives.

Who this fits
You will probably do well here if
- You would rather explain something clearly than close it quickly.
- You can learn how Illinois Shines, ComEd billing, and the four financing structures actually work, and then explain them to a 70-year-old homeowner without jargon.
- You are organized enough to run your own business: calendar, follow-up, records.
- You are comfortable being verified. Homeowners will check ISI, and they will check you.
You will probably not do well here if you need a fixed paycheck, you want to be told when to work, or you think a little exaggeration is part of the trade.
